Shine’S 2026 ScHolarship Application

The 2026 Shine Scholarship celebrates LGBTQ+ high school graduating seniors in the Charlottesville area as they move into their next chapter - whether that's college, trade program, or jumping straight into the workforce. This award honors students who embody authenticity, creativity, and community spirit.
AWARD DETAILS:
Amount: $500 per recipient
Funds: Unrestricted (you can use them however they'll help you most) and will be paid directly to the student
Who can apply: Any LGBTQ+ graduating senior from Charlottesville City or Albemarle County planning to enter the job market, college or a trade program following graduation
HOW TO APPLY:
Applicants should email Shine at admin@shinecville.com with a short essay (no more than 500 words) telling us a little about yourself, your goals and how you plan to utilize the funds. You must also include your contact information (email, address and phone number). Students can also submit their applications through the form below.

Applications Close: May 1, 2026
Winners notified and funds awarded: May 2026
